Jorg Hysek was born in East Berlin in 1953 and moved to Switzerland in 1960. In Switzerland he worked in the design department of Rolex for four years. He then decided to create his own design company, Hysek Styling. In 1984 he won the Grand Prix of Geneva and then he won the Jury's Mention and soon after his reputation was firmly established. He was originally trained to be a painter and sculptor but he is now known as a product designer. In 1996 he designed the first product to carry his name, Jorg Hysek line of writing instruments. Many people consider preowned Jorg Hysek watches, used Jorg Hysek watches & second hand Jorg Hysek watches all the same, but a Gray & Sons Jorg Hysek watch is something different altogether.
