Movado Company History:
Movado was first started in 1881 by the 19 year old Achille Ditesheim in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. The name Movado means "always in motion" in the artificial language of Esperanto. The most well-known Movado dial , the Movado Museum® Watch dial, is regarded as an icon of Modernism and was the first watch dial to ever be selected for the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art. The Movado company was acquired by the Movado Group Inc in 1983. Other brands under the Movado Group name are Ebel, Concord and ESQ by Movado along with Coach, HUGO BOSS, Juicy Couture, Lacoste and Tommy Hilfiger licensed watch brands. Many people consider pre-owned Movado watches, used Movado watches & second hand Movado watches all the same, but a Gray & Sons Movado watch is something different altogether. All our watches are serviced and polished to like new condition and come with our twelve month warranty and Like New for Life policy. Our after sales service commitment is second to none in the world, backed by our six in house Swiss-trained watchmakers and jewelers.
